Terms of use

These terms and conditions (T&C) apply to all users of the EnergyStream website and any information or services associated to the site. By using the site you will be deemed to have agreed to these T&C.


Content or advice provided on the EnergyStream site is for information use only and does not nor should not constitute legal or professional opinion. Decisions made as a result of information provided through the site must be based solely on your own evaluation of your circumstances and objectives.

Information and warranties

EnergyStream and its information contributors do not give any warranty whatsoever, including without limitation, as to the availability, accuracy, completeness, currency or reliability of the information or services made available via the Site and expressly disclaim (to the maximum extent permitted in law) all liability for any damage or loss resulting from your use of, or reliance on the site or the information provided via the site.

Linked sites

No link appearing in site content or linked site is endorsed by EnergyStream and no responsibility is taken for material on any linked site. You agree that by accessing any linked site you are doing so at your own risk and you agree to fully indemnify EnergyStream and/or site administraor Venture Taranaki against any liability arising out of your accessing any linked site.

Intellectual Property

Unauthorised use of the content is prohibited and may infringe on intellectual property rights of EnergyStream and/or external content providers. No content may be reproduced, published or transmitted in any manner without the prior written consent of EnergyStream and/or Venture Taranaki (site administrator).

Technical Difficulties

The site may be subject to interruption or delay. While all reasonable efforts will be made to provide uninterrupted service, EnergyStream may, at any time or for any duration, and without prior notice, be unavailable.

Disruptive Activities

Users of the site must not:

  • use any of the site services to threaten, abuse, defame, harass or stalk others
  • disrupt activity online
  • use anybody else's computer system, communications services or data, including by hacking or by attempting to circumvent user authentication or other security measures
  • post or use any software or device which may facilitate a continued connection or degrade or impede the service of another user, such as pinging, mail bombs or war dialling
  • run network scanning software or use open relay to distribute messages
  • introduce anything harmful or destructive (such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses, time bombs or bots) to, or interfere in any way with, our or anyone else's computer system or communications services.


If users are just surfing and reading information on EnergyStream  then the site administrators, Venture Taranaki, may collect and store information about the visitors/users of the site services: These may include:

  • the IP address of your machine when connected to the Internet and the domain name from which you are accessing the Internet;
  • the operating system and the browser your computer uses, and any search engine you are using;
  • the date and time you are visiting;
  • the URLs of the pages you visit;
  • if you provide it, your email address.

EnergyStream/Venture Taranaki may use that information to measure the number of visitors/users to different parts of the site and, for example, to measure the effectiveness of advertising and/or use of services.

Although they may publish aggregated information about usage patterns, EnergyStream do not disclose information about individual machines except for the reasons set out below.

EnergyStream does not sell information which identifies users personally.
They may gather more extensive information if they are concerned, for example, about security issues. If they think it is necessary, they can disclose information to relevant law enforcement authorities, such as the Police or the Department of Internal Affairs.

Site Management Rights

If users do not comply with this Site Policy or any other policy applying to a particular service, the EnergyStream site administrators (Venture Taranaki) may withhold, suspend, restrict or terminate access to the site to users (selected or otherwise) at its discretion.

EnergyStream may also require users to edit material considered unauthorised, misleading, offensive, defamatory, illegal or detrimental to the reputation or brand of EnergyStream and/or that of Venture Taranaki.

If users do not do so to the satisfaction of the site administrators, they may edit that material themselves and may withhold, suspend, restrict or terminate use of the service/site of users at its discretion without further notice.

EnergyStream/Venture Taranaki may filter, delete or restrict access to material posted on this  Web site or transmitted via its servers if users or anyone else does not comply with this Site Policy or any other applicable policy.

Changing This Policy

EnergyStream and/or Venture Taranaki may change this policy at any time by changing or removing existing terms or adding new ones. Changes may take the form of a completely new policy. EnergyStream will tell you about any changes by posting an updated policy on this EnergyStream Web site.
